Part 1:
Understanding Partnerships (residential 1 - 3
days, location: Krakow, Poland)
Understanding: first and second of phases of the partnership cycle (planning & building;
managing & maintaining)
Skills: internal communications, resource
mapping, facilitation , interest-based negotiation.
Part 2: Making
Partnerships Work (residential 2 – 2 days, location: Selected Partnership Group)
Study visit: exploring a
real-life partnership, conducting rapid appraisal/review (group work supported
by a tutor)
Skills: analysis and reflective practice,
writing case studies, group dynamics
Part 3:
Improving Partnerships (residential 3 – 3 days, location: Krakow, Poland)
Understanding: third and fourth phases of the partnership cycle (reviewing & revising; sustaining
outcomes)
Skills: external communications, monitoring
and evaluation, managing exits and entrances, record-keeping and reporting
In-between residential sessions: individual learning and Learning Partnerships (group work comprising 5-7 participants) supported by a tutor (drawn from a pool of experienced partnership practitioners). This approach is designed to build a practical appreciation for partnership dynamics – how to take advantage of diversity to build effective collaboration, how to capitalize on individual strengths, how to deal with conflicts, how to plan and implement joint action, how to design decision-making to maximize benefits. Course participants will have access to the resources and networks of an internet-based Partnership Forum and of the National Network of Partnership Groups.
