The Partnership Academy
The Course of partnership cooperation
1st edition: April – June 2010
Deadline for applications: 31st March 2010
The innovative course called the Partnership Academy is designed for the representatives of all the sectors of public life – those in large and small business, national and local government agencies, universities, schools and civil society groups. The Partnership Academy is offered for those who are involved in cross-sector partnerships and who seek to develop and improve partnership practice of their organization or the impact of partnerships in their region by learning from the practical experience of others and gaining an appreciation for the prospects for the future of partnership action in Poland.
The Partnership Academy draws, on the one hand, on the methods and approaches developed by The Partnering Initiative over the past 15 years and, on the other, from Polish partnership experience of the National Network of Partnership Groups and the Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation, which has nurtured its growth and development.
The course draws directly on the experience of partnership practitioners operating in Poland and internationally. Support during and after the completion of the course gives participants an opportunity not only to gain new skills and understanding as to what constitutes an effective partnership, but also to build greater self-confidence in their capability to help their own organisations and partnerships to realise their full potential.
The course includes 3 training sessions (in total 8 days x 8 hours = 64 hours of training), including a study visit in selected Partnership Group). The programme of the course is designed for 3 months (from April till June). Between the sessions the participants are supposed to complete individual and group tasks with the support of tutors. During the course a participant will gain:
- understanding: about all the phases of partnership lifecycle (planning, building, managing and maintaining of relations, reviewing and revising, sustaining outcomes);
- skills: external communications, monitoring and evaluation, managing exits and entrances, record-keeping and reporting;
- experience: by visiting a real partnership, byindividual learning and Learning Partnerships (group work comprising 5-7 participants) supported by a tutor partnership group (between sessions).
